At RIW, our offering to customers is based on the strength of our technical advisory service. We take a consultative approach, and work in partnership with architects, engineers and contractors to simplify the design, specification and installation of waterproofing and gas proofing.

Getting the structural waterproofing or gas proofing right is crucial to prevent serious and costly issues after the build is completed. However, achieving an effective strategy, especially on large or challenging projects, can be complicated. This is where we can add considerable value to a project. Our team will take care of developing the waterproofing strategy from start to finish, including technical advice and guidance, preparation of sectional details, approval of drawings, installation inspections and ongoing site support.

Since RIW was founded 100 years ago, we have worked on some of the most complex and challenging projects in the UK. We know the key to a successful waterproofing strategy is a complete understanding of the issues. That is why we begin by taking a thorough look at the details of the project and discuss the requirements with the architect. From this our technical team will provide a recommendation on the waterproofing strategy. Based on decades of experience and the expertise of our team, we will recommend enhancements or adjustments to the details to ensure a more robust or simpler design.

However, this is only the start of our involvement in the project. We are on hand at every stage to help streamline the process and mitigate potential issues. For example, before construction commences our team will meet with contractors to ensure all the details are optimised to help buildability. We may also provide installer training to help ensure best practice application of the waterproofing system. We work closely with the project team to provide on-site support and inspections where required.
